To train your dog successfully, you need to keep it going, don’t give up and stay consistent.
Motivators: I’ve mentioned this before. As humans we wouldn’t go to work if we weren’t guaranteed a paycheck. So why deny your dog of his reward after doing a good job. Again-never reward the behavior(s) you don’t want.
Professional Dog Trainer-Jean Donaldson, offers this advice to dog trainers and dog owners, “Successful animal training is notoriously perseverance intensive. This is partly why the world is full of untrained dogs.” She doesn’t say, “untrainable” but untrained.
Training your dog IS what you signed up for when you made the decision to buy/adopt your furry family member.
